20 anos Go Ahead School!


Vinte anos não são vinte dias, nem vinte meses. O mundo era um lugar muito diferente em 1998 quando surgiu a ideia "Go Ahead". Sim, ideia. Antes de se tornar uma empresa, uma escola, a Go Ahead nasceu como uma ideia - ideia essa regada com os melhores sentimentos e inflada por sonhos. "Vamos trabalhar com alegria e ótimas energias, como se estivéssemos sempre em férias"... "Faremos diferente pois não somos uma franquia; somos uma escola administrada por professores". 


Ensinar e administrar são duas habilidades diferentes - embora possam se complementar. E tivemos que aprender com o tempo, empiricamente, experimentando, tentativa-e-erro como parte da rotina. Em alguns (ou vários) momentos, quase como trocar um pneu com o carro andando.


E os avanços do tempo? Mudanças de tendências, novas tecnologias? Felizmente o ensinar é perene, e sabiamente temos usado as tecnologias para nós, e não em nosso lugar. Erramos muito, mas acertamos bem mais - o que nos trouxe até aqui. 


Encerro este texto citando uma virtude que me é muito cara - a gratidão, pois raramente se vence sozinho. Diz o autor anônimo que, "quando a gratidão está ligada à gentileza, nos tornamos mais humanos. Quando está ligada ao reconhecimento do valor das pequenas coisas, nos tornamos melhores". E a Go Ahead carrega toneladas de histórias para contar, feitas por alunos, empresas e colaboradores que passaram pela escola e por vocês, que aqui hoje apreciam o nosso trabalho. A todos sou grata - que possamos seguir em frente, como o nome da nossa escola sugere. O nosso nome em si é uma ode ao otimismo! 


Somos, acima de tudo, responsáveis pela disseminação de conteúdo de qualidade, promovendo uma real evolução no aprendizado dos nossos alunos. Conte sempre conosco para "go ahead" juntos, utilizando todas as ferramentas que disponibilizamos - sendo o nosso app a mais recente. Um belo presente de 20 anos!

On October 20th, we celebrated Go Ahead’s 20th anniversary with a super cool dinner, when we enjoyed the company of our teaching staff and associates. Very special moments, especially when the "Go the Extra Mile" app was introduced to the group - a huge anniversary gift!
Twenty years are neither twenty days, nor twenty months. The world was a very different place back in 1998 when the "Go Ahead" idea came up. Yes, an idea. Before becoming a business, a school, Go Ahead was born as an idea – an idea that was nourished with the most positive feelings and magnified by dreams. "Let's work with joy and great energy, as if we were always on vacation" ... "We will do it differently because we are not a franchise, we are a school run by teachers."


Teaching and running a business require entirely different skills - although they can certainly complement each other. And we had to learn over time, empirically, experimenting, trial-and-error as part of the routine. At some - or several – moments it felt like changing a flat tire with the engine on. We simply had to hit the ground running.


How about the passing of time? Changing trends, new technologies? Luckily teaching is perennial, and we have wisely used technologies as tools to aid us, not to replace us. We have made a lot of mistakes, but we have hit the nail on the head a lot more often than we made mistakes – which has brought us to this point.


I will wrap this text up by quoting a virtue that is very dear to me – gratitude – for one seldom wins on one’s own. An anonymous author says, "When gratitude is connected to kindness, we become more human. When it is tied to recognizing the value of small things, we become better." And Go Ahead has tons of stories to tell, written by students, companies and employees who have been part of the school, and written by you, who are here today and appreciate our work. I am grateful to all of you – may we keep going ahead as the name of our school suggests. Our name itself is an ode to optimism!


We are, above all, responsible for spreading quality content, promoting a real breakthrough in our students' learning processes. Always count on us to "go ahead" together, using all the tools we provide – our app being the most recent one. A beautiful gift for our 20th anniversary!
